Assessment Tool (with Plan)
(Based on NIST SP 800-171 Rev 2)

In order receive Enhanced JCP Certificate you need to document your National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-171 cybersecurity assessment on the Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS).

Instructions for the Assessment

  • Below is a tool for explaining the process of making a cyber security assessment
  • Review each of the 110 requirements listed on the Scoring Tool below. In some cases, the intent of the Requirement may not be obvious. Click on the Details link for more information.
  • NIST and DOD have determined a score value for each Requirement that reflects the relative importance of that particular Requirement.
  • Each requirement has buttons to the right of the description.
  • If you comply, click the Implemented box.
  • If the requirement is something you can do in your business but have not, then click the Not Yet Implemented box.
  • If the Requirement is something that is not possible with your business, click the Not Applicable box (example, managing cybersecurity between multiple location when your business has only one location).
  • The Scoring Tool will automatically calculate your score as you go through all Requirements. Your current score will always be shown in the green This box will also show you how many requirements you have reviewed and scored.
  • To have a permanent record of your assessment and to have a System Security Plan, download the Assessment Tool (with Plan) to an Excel spreadsheet.
